Makaton Signing for Babies

This training is designed for families, carers and nursery staff to come with their babies or toddlers, to understand and develop early communication skills using Makaton signs and symbols with speech. Areas covered during the course will be: 1. A brief history of Makaton and it’s and development 2. An understanding of how Makaton can be used as part of communication with babies; 3.Ways to use the selected signs from Makaton Signing for Babies and share these with others who have contact with their child; 4.How the signs used have been derived; After the course attendees should feel confident in using signs to communicate with their child.
